Teras & Streak

Privacy policy

Last updated [DATE] · Applies to Teras and Streak

Teras (workout logging) and Streak (habit tracking) are made by [FULL NAME OR COMPANY], in [COUNTRY]. They share one account, so this policy covers both. You can reach us at [CONTACT EMAIL].

The short version. These apps are built to keep your data on your phone. Your workouts, sets, routines, habits and check-ins are stored locally and are never uploaded. One small summary per training day is sent to our server, so that your training can appear next to your habits. There is no advertising, no analytics and no tracking of any kind.

What stays on your phone

Both apps keep their records in a database on the device itself. None of the following is uploaded anywhere:

Because this data lives only on the device, uninstalling an app deletes it, and it is not restored on a new phone. It is also not included in our backups, because we never receive it.

What leaves your phone

Your account

If you sign in, an account is created for you by Supabase, our hosting and authentication provider. Depending on how you sign in, this stores your email address and an identifier from Apple or Google. We also keep one profile row: your email address, display name, username, avatar URL, which sign-in method you used, and your time zone.

Your daily workout summary

When you finish a workout, Teras calculates a single row for that calendar day and sends only that:

Field What it is
date The calendar day you trained, in your own time zone
volume_kg Total weight moved that day (reps multiplied by weight, added up)
sets How many sets you completed
workouts How many sessions you logged
level An intensity step from 0 to 4, worked out by comparing that day against your own previous 90 days

That is the whole of it. Which exercises you did, how much you lifted on any particular set, and your bodyweight are not part of this summary and never leave the device.

Using the apps as a guest

You can use either app without an account. In guest mode nothing at all is sent to our server: there is no account, no profile and no daily summary.

How Teras and Streak share your data

The two apps use one account and one database. Streak reads the daily summaries that Teras writes, so it can draw your training as a second wave beside your habits. This is your own data moving between your own two apps — it is not shared with anyone else, and it is not a sale or transfer to a third party.

Who can see your data

Every row in our database is protected by row-level security, which is enforced by the database itself rather than by the apps. The rules permit each signed-in person to read and change only the rows belonging to their own account. Other users cannot read your rows.

[FULL NAME OR COMPANY] has administrative access to the database, as the operator of the service. We look at individual data only where it is necessary to investigate a fault you have reported, or where the law requires it.

Companies that process data for us

Who What they do
Supabase Hosts the database and handles sign-in. Your account, profile and daily summaries are stored here.
Apple Sign in with Apple, if you choose it. Apple lets you hide your email address.
Google Sign in with Google, if you choose it.
Expo Builds and distributes the apps. It does not receive your workouts or habits.

[CHECK: name the region your Supabase project runs in, and add any other provider you start using.]

What we do not do

How long we keep it

Your account, profile and daily summaries are kept until you delete your account. Deleting the account removes them from the database. Anything held only on your phone is removed when you delete the app or clear its data.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for your account and its data to be deleted. Write to [CONTACT EMAIL] and we will respond within [NUMBER] days.

[CHECK with a lawyer: if you have users in the EU or UK, this section needs the GDPR lawful bases, the right to object and to data portability, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. If you have users in California, the CCPA requires its own disclosures.]

Children

These apps are not intended for children under [AGE], and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Where a change materially affects how your data is handled, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.

Before publishing: this draft describes what the apps actually do, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Fill in every highlighted field and have it checked against the law where you operate, and against Apple's and Google's store requirements.
